What a day looks like

Three short readings: morning, midday and night. Each one is a passage, a few lines of reflection, a written prayer, and a place to put down what you thought.

About a minute to read. That is the point. A rhythm you can actually keep is worth more than an hour you meant to spend.

Reminders are optional, three a day at times you set. Psalm will not remind you about a reading you have already done.

A year of readings

365 days, 1,095 readings, written to be read in order. Every passage is cited, and every citation was checked against the text it names — not by hand at the end, but by a gate the readings have to pass before they can ship.

Your streak, your notes and your place in the year stay where they were, whichever translation you are reading in.

The whole Bible, on the device

Browse or search any book, any chapter, any verse. Four translations ship inside the app, and all four are in the public domain:

• King James Version
• World English Bible (Updated)
• American Standard Version
• Young’s Literal Translation

Switch between them whenever you like. Nothing is downloaded, because it is all already there.

Somewhere to write

Type it, or tap the microphone and say it. Everything you write goes to your journal, where you can search it, select several entries at once, and share or export them as a text file.

A note you delete waits thirty days in Recently Deleted before it goes for good.

Dictation uses Apple’s on-device recognizer, so your voice becomes text where you are speaking. It is not sent to Apple, and it is not sent to us.

It works with no connection

Not “works offline too” — Psalm makes no network requests at all. There is no account, no sign-in, no sync and no server. The readings, the Bible, the search and the dictation are all on your device, and the app behaves the same in airplane mode as it does on Wi-Fi.

Which means nothing is collected: no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party SDKs. Nothing you write leaves your device, because there is nowhere for it to go. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

What it costs

Free. No subscription, no unlock, no in-app purchases, no ads. There is no paywall anywhere in the app and no part of it is held back.

We think scripture is a poor thing to charge admission to. If a later version ever sells anything, it will be something added on top — never the readings, never the text.

What you need

• An iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 18 or later.
• Nothing else. No account, no email address, no sign-up, no connection.
• Optionally: permission for notifications, if you want the reminders, and for the microphone, if you want to dictate. Both are optional and the app works fully without either.
